Sunday was Jason's Birthday! How old is he?--107 if you ask him. We had a great time celebrating all weekend. Roger & Gloria came to visit on Friday afternoon. They had hope of seeing Owen and Ella play soccer on Saturday morning but the games were rained out. They were so sweet to provide childcare for us on Saturday night so that we could go out to eat with our good friends Daniel and Jessica. We ate and ate at a wonderful restaurant called Maggiano's. We were definately stuffed when we waddled out of there. The kids all picked out just the right gifts. Lettie picked a shirt so that he could have a new shirt to preach in on his birthday. Owen picked an addidas soccer shirt. Ella chose some soccer shorts. They love to shop for gifts. On Sunday after church Granny and PawPaw treated us to lunch at one of Jason's favorite restaurants-Dreamland BBQ! So thankful to have him in my life! He is the greatest husband, father, and Preacher/Pastor (if I might say so myself!). Our family is blessed.

Ella Decides to put a Bead up her Nose
Well, today ended up being an "exciting" day. Ella told me that she had something stuck up her nose. At first I thought it was a lite brite peg. Turns out it was a hair bead. I was not sure at first that there was really something up there. With the help of a flashlight I noticed a little pink bead was definately up there--way up there. At first I was in a panic. But she was breathing fine and after I calmed down she did too. I tried putting pepper under her nose to make her sneeze but didn't have any luck. I tried to rub her nose in hopes of moving it down but nothing worked. I called the insurance and found a place that could help us. Ella was very upset that she had to go to the doctor. The nurse came in and said that I was going to get it out. Wondering "what in the world am I fixing to do?" So here's what worked- I put my finger over the nostril that was not clogged, put my mouth over her mouth and blew into her mouth as hard as I could. It took 3 tries, but then it shot out. I could not believe it worked! She is fine now and keeps telling me, "Mommy, I am so sorry I put that bead up my nose. I won't do it again!"
Guess we are Back to Square One!
No news really is news in this case. As most of you know we have had a verbal contract on our house in Danville since last Wednesday evening. Well it has been over a week now and they still have not signed the contract. So, I am taking it as a "we are no longer interested in the house." This is so sad to our whole family. We were really looking forward to getting settled here in Georgia. I pray that God has a plan that is even better for our family. I am trying to trust Him in the midst of my sadness. Please continue to pray along with us as we try to wait patiently on Him to move.

The Enormous Hot Dog...
I mentioned in my previous blog the enormous hot dog that Ella ate at the Atlanta Braves game last week.I wanted to show the pictures of it. The first one is before, then mid way through, and then after. It is really great. She was so proud of herself. We went back down to the vendor who sold it to us so that she could tell her that she ate it ALL!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!
Thurs-day night we met the Ward family at Turner Field. The day started off with uncertainty. On the way to the field the bottom fell out and I-85 started to back up. We were about 5 minutes late for out 3 o'clock tour of the stadium. I was so worried that we would not be able to get the tour and we were all really looking forward to that. However, God was good and we ended up getting a PRIVATE tour of the stadium and even got to meet "the voice of the Braves" Ernie Johnson. He was a really nice guy. Then we went through the museum. Everyone got Braves hats. By the time the tour was over it had stopped raining and it was getting close to game time. We grabbed some dinner. Ella ate the biggest hot dog of her life. It was HUGE! The Braves didn't win but we had a great time watching the game with friends and seeing all the sights at the ballpark.
A Day to Remember!
I don't know where to start.... Today at Northside has been a day to remember. Jason spoke about baptism this morning. We have been preparing all weekend for a spontaneous baptism to follow the message. I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and bought clothes and undergarments in every size. We bought deoderant, hair products, everything someone would need to redress after being baptized. Make-up samples were provided for the women. We were ready to dispell anyone's excuse. God did not let us down. In all there were 15 baptized today (some children were not spontaneous, but we had several adults that were). There was so much excitement. Over 200 in the second service! It is so exciting to be in on what God is doing at Northside!

Lettie's 8th Birthday!
We had a great celebration for Lettie's Birthday. She turned 8 years old on March 28th. I cannot believe I have an 8 year old. She celebrated for several weeks. One thing she asked for was to go to Virginia and see her friends. She had not seen most of them since we moved to ATL. So the week before her birthday we made a tour of the state. First to Richmond and then to Danville. We had a great time visiting with everyone. Birthday parties, presents and cakes at every stop!
After church on Sunday the 28th, Lettie invited 2 friends to go to Burger King (her choice) and then to paint ceramics at All Fired Up. FUN, FUN, FUN! Owen had a great time painting but was not thrilled to be surrounded by so many GIRLS! He and Jason worked at a "boys table." Ella thought that she was as big as everyone else. She put SEVERAL coats of paint onto her Easter egg that she painted. She is so proud of how it turned out.
Rainbow colored icingless cupcakes were her choice of cake. Lettie saw this recipe in the Family Fun Magazine and thought they looked perfect for her party. She got lots of cool birthday presents: A new American Girl Doll, clothes and other stuff for her dolls, a CD player, movies, crafts, CDs, games, jewelry, clothes, sunglasses, money! Thank you all for being so generous and loving toward her. She is growing up so fast.

Easter Outfits for All!
All of the kids now have completed Easter outfits! Thanks to Granny and PawPaw, the girls have pretty new dresses that they are very excited about. We completed their outfits with matching bright pink sandals from Target. Owen picked out some plaid shorts and a Texas Longhorn (according to him) burnt Orange polo that matches his shorts. He looks so grown up. I am so excited to see them all dressed up! I will be sure and post pictures on the big day. On the way home from shopping we talked about Good Friday and why it is important to us. Ella piped up and said "remember that song "He's alive, He's alive, He's alive," can we listen to that song?" So sweet to hear her singing that song at the top of her lungs. He is Alive! and that calls for celebration! Hope you all have a wonderful Easter Celebration!
Welcome to our Blog!
So many of our friends and family have asked us to join FaceBook. I just cannot do it. I thought that this would be a great way to share photos and "happenings" around the Barber house. This will be my first attempt at blogging so bare with me as I figure things out. I look forward to sharing all of the fun and funNY stuff that goes on in the Barber house. Lettie, Owen, and Ella are excited that we are starting a blog. Hopefully they will contribute to it too! Thanks for following.
